Soft Sand

Beautiful soft white sand is a part of Australian life. Nearly every beach we have has soft white sand. Tokyo loves sunbathing nude, lying on the soft sand with bare skin.

All that sand has to come from somewhere. According to scientists most of that sand comes from Parrot Fish. You heard right. Parrot Fish eat the coral skeleton on a reef in search of algae. The coral/algae gets ground up in their gut and ground up coral is passed as fish poop. All that soft white sand was made by fish.

So next time you visit a beach of soft white sand that stretches as far as the eye can see, think about how many fish were needed to make all that sand. Tokyo will still enjoy the beach nude, but won’t look at a beach the same way again.
