Would You Let Mosquitos Spoil This View?
Not long after the storms we had in Brisbane, beautiful and sunny weather followed. Mandie relaxes next to a waterway and enjoys the tranquility. No wind, no people, just quiet of the water lapping at the sand and basking in the warm sunshine.
Well that is partially true. It was beautiful, sunny and quiet. There was no one around and it was very tranquil......if you could ignore the clouds of mosquitoes that plagued the area. We went to Nudgee beach for these photos. The area was heavily damaged by the recent storms. As we hopped out of the car and headed to the area we wanted to shoot at. We only went about 50 meters when it became very evident that we would not be able to withstand the mosquito onslaught without repellent. So we went back to the car to smoother ourselves in the stuff.
There was a washed out section of the walking track that was blocked off to public access while they waited to repair it. Mandie and I bypassed that and headed to the section of track, which also happened to have a beautiful old tree on a white sandy spot, which at high tide gave a remarkable scene. It also meant we would not be disturbed for the entire time we were there.
Without the mosquito plague it would have been the perfect place to just sit and watch the world go by, to relax, nude and enjoy the warm sun on skin. Mandie did enjoy it despite the insect horde.
