Uncovered Feminine Flower
One of the most lovely women I have ever had the honour to work with is Evelyn. When I first saw her in person and then that first moment I saw her nude, I just knew I had to keep working with her. In time her physical beauty was matched by her calm lovely nature. This delightful uncovered feminine flower has been the reason why I started photographing the nude. Searching till I found someone like Evelyn. Over the years I have met a few who fit that category. I feel so grateful to each and every one of them.
This series is about the femininity of women like Evelyn. Over the years I discovered that something has been trying to destroy this feminine aspect of women. I have seen so many stunning women who went from girly, soft and female, to a more butch, masculine aspect. Cutting off the hair to look like a man. Not just xcutting their hair, but making it look as ridiculous as possible. Adding piercings, tattoos and modifying their bodies in crazy ways, all the while they still believe that they are “discovering their female aspect”. In reality they are trying (and I believe they are not consciously aware of it) to be not just more masculine, but as repulsive as they are able to be. Why would feminine beauty be such a tabboo? I believe it is an external force applying social engineering. This is most apparent in western countries like Australia, US, UK etc. The places that are in the headilines for all the wrong reasons.
Thankfully there are still women like Evelyn who still feel their femininity is a virtue, is natural, is a true part of themselves and are fulfilled being themselves. It is this feminine aspect that men are appreciative of. It is what they subconsciously are drawn to. It is what I am drawn to, both as a man and artist.
